Do you like broccoli ice cream?

Good morning!

Do you like broccoli?
Yes I do! Yes I do!
Do you like ice cream?
Yes I do! Yes I do!
Do you like broccoli ice cream?
No I don’t!
Yucky!

Those are the lyrics to one of the songs sung in Miss Marilyn’s class. And my sentiments exactly! 😦

Have you ever thought about how much you like certain foods, but how much you would not like combining some of them together?

The closest I’ve come to experiencing that would be participating in the Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest. Every year they offer a $1 million dollar grand prize to the winning potato chip flavor. This year’s four finalists that we all got to sample as they went out on the shelves in July and we could vote on were  Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries, Southern Biscuits And Gravy, New York Reuben, and Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro. My participation is tasting not creating. I enjoy sampling all four each year. Sometimes they are salty flavors that compliment the salty potato chips as this year produced, but sometimes they are sweet. Flavors you would not ordinarily combine with potato chips. But I try them all each year.  My youngest daughter and I take the challenge. It’s just a fun thing we do. For the betterment of America.  😉

I would guess that’s how God feels sometimes. He likes the people and the world He created, but He doesn’t like combining His people in this world as it is today.
Yucky! 😦

The song is total nonsense,  yet at the same time it teaches the concepts of comparisons and opposites.
Like. 🙂 Do not like. 😦

Like and do not like are the milder, more kind versions we teach children of what we as adults have been taught by the world.
Love and hate.

God teaches us love.  🙂 God is love.♡

The world teaches us hate. 😦

Hate is a pretty strong word.
But God does use it in His word. He tells us the 6 (or 7) things He hates. That must mean He feels very strongly about them.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been guilty of at least one of them more than a time or two. 😦

That hurts my heart as I think about how strongly God feels about those acts to hate and detest them, and how we hurt His heart. 😦

Let’s all stop combining good people with bad behaviors.
Yucky!
Let’s all be the people God created us to be.  Let’s be the people He likes.

Now who wants to join me in some broccoli ice cream?!

16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Proverbs 6:16-19.
