Fall Back

Good morning!

Daylight Saving Time officially ended at 2:00 a.m. this morning for 2015.  That means it was time to “FALL BACK”.

FALL: the season we are presently in.
BACK: the opposite of your front.
I remember the fun and thrill of falling backwards into a big pile of freshly raked fallen leaves as a child, the crunching sound they made as they broke my fall.

Falling Backwards requires trust. Trust that someone or something is going to catch you or break your fall.

Who do you trust to catch you when you fall?

We trust our clocks to tell us the proper time. So we fall back one hour. We set our clocks one hour earlier on November 1st.
That means an extra hour of sleep today. Woo hoo! 🙂

We have to manually set back our clocks annually every fall if we want to keep the correct time. (And then again in the spring when we spring forward an hour. But that’s another day, another blog.)

We have to set back those few clocks that aren’t smarter than we are. You know the ones:  the microwave clock, the oven clock, the battery operated clock on the wall, the grandfather clock, some alarm clocks, and the clock in the car. But for most, our smart devices, our phones, our ipads, our laptops, all reset themselves automatically.

Our devices may be smart enough to tell us what time it is on their own, but they will never be able to care about us or our safety.

That’s where the arms of our Savior come in. They are always there to catch us as we fall. Sometimes forwards. Sometimes backwards. No matter what time of day or night it may be. I don’t know about you, but that’s the only arms I fully trust to catch me when I fall.

Isaiah 28 tells us what God does to  those that do not follow Him. They will fall backward. With no Savior to catch them.:(

Set your clocks, and enjoy your extra hour today!
Fall back! 🙂
Then fall back into the arms of the one who will always catch you!

So the LORD will spell out his message for them again, one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there, so that they will stumble and fall backward. They will be injured, trapped, and taken captive.
Isaiah 28:13

Love and laughter,
