Good morning!

One of my favorite sitcoms was the series, Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004. We all wanted Jennifer Aniston’s haircut! And her husband ’til 2005! 🙂

I had a pretty good case of friends envy. I wished I had a group of close knit friends that all hung out together regularly.  That went around singing their theme song, I’ll be there for you. They made life look so fun!

Instead my life choices were such that I left home, went to college, lived in a sorority house,  married two weeks out of college and moved to an obsolete town on the Texas-Mexico border. Then we moved around a bit and settled down back in Tulsa to raise a family.
No group of long term close knit friends. But two beautiful daughters out of the deal.
No regrets. 🙂
And another as the years went on.

Over time I’ve seen many friends come and go at some of the different places in my life. Many served a season or a reason. They blessed me or taught me a lesson. They were only temporary.  But a handful of very special ones have hung on. To them I am so thankful!  ♡

I inherited 308 new friends just this year at Jenks West Elementary. The students in Building B. That’s what we call the relationship between the staff and our students. We are friends.  🙂

And that’s not even counting the staff!

I have to tell you, I’m a social girl. I do love my friends!  ♡ And I do love spending time with them!

But there is no better friend than Jesus. And He commands us to love one another,  our friends,  as He loves us. Commands,  not requests.

So let’s all do it. After all, consider what all He’s done for us. He laid down His life for us!  It’s the least we can do!  Let’s love not hate. Let’s build up not tear down. Let’s encourage not discourage.  Let’s be there for our friends through the good and the bad. Let’s work through things with our friends not dispose of them.

Here’s to my friends!  I love you all! ♡
And never forget, I’ll be there for you!

12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.

Love and laughter,
