Do you remember as a kid having sleep overs?
You’d pack a bag, take your sleeping bag, your favorite stuffed animal and your toothbrush, and away you would go to your best friend’s house for adventures unknown.
As a girl it might include painting your nails and talking about the boys you most recently had a crush on.
I miss those days!
And that is exactly why I was so ecstatic when one of my longest and dearest friends invited me to spend two nights with her. We’d had sleep overs before in junior high school that is. This time it was just a few years later. 🙂
No boys allowed!
We both are single and each of us currently lives with one of our elderly parents. She was dog sitting elsewhere, very near where I work. Night one commenced with us meeting up after work for a celebratory glass of wine to kick off the festivities. We then went to dinner together at one of her high school reunion group’s pot luck dinners. Yum yum! Then it was home to watch a movie together, Heaven is for Real. Then off to bed to chit chat and giggle like girls do. I even had the privilege of Gus the pomeranian cuddling up next to me.
Night two. Shopping and Ted’s for mexican food and margaritas. And more girl talk and laughter. :).
Not much has changed over the years. I still love this girl! ♡ And I still love girlfriend time! And we still talk about the boys we like.
One in particular. His name is Jesus. He commands us to love one another. He calls us His friend if we do what He commands us.
I urge each of you to cherish your girlfriend time. Have more sleep overs! Love everyone. And always keep Jesus as the love of your life. ♡
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. “You are My friends if you do what I command you.”
Love and laughter,
