I spent yesterday morning at the Back To School Celebration with ALL the Jenks Public Schools staff at the Jenks Education Service Center.
To try and describe it to you adequately, I would have to say, it was the Jenks vs. Union high school football pep rally on steroids. Except it was for all the staff at Jenks Public Schools rather than the students. And it wasn’t about football but rather powering up the staff to be the best they can be and recognizing those that had achieved such potential!
Each school had their own custom designed t-shirt and sat together in a designated seating area.
It was all about spirit! And who had the most. 🙂
We at Jenks West Elementary wore the symbol of Captain America’s shield on our chests.
Just like Captain America’s notorious shield, we too are indestructible when it comes to mentoring our students to be the best they can be. The back of our shirts were imprinted with the slogan, We believe everyone has a superpower!
I had to think about that one for awhile. As we walked across the parking lot on our route into the building, I told my fellow peers I didn’t think I had one. Miss Marilyn, being the wonderful teacher she is, immediately saw the best in me, overlooking my shortcomings, just as she does with her students every day in the classroom. She replied, “Of course you do! You’ve inspired me to think about writing a blog.”
Hmmm. So there you have it!
My superpower is …
being an encourager, perhaps?
And with that being said, I’d like to encourage you to be the best you can be. Find your passion. Your purpose. Do what you love, and love what you do. Go beyond what’s expected. Use your superpowers. We all have them. They are God given gifts. Help others achieve their best along the way.
After all, that’s why we’re all here. To be God’s hands and feet in this world. To show His love. He uses His super powers every day to protect us. It’s time for payback.
Together let’s all make a positive difference in the lives of our future. Unleash the super hero in you! 🙂
Behold, these are but the outskirts of His ways,
and how small a whisper do we hear of Him!
But the thunder of His power who can understand?”
Love and laughter,
