These may look to you like M&M’s chocolate candies. Through adult eyes, that is.
But they are actually circles. Miss Marilyn sees them as circles. Small circles. Blue ones. Green ones. Red ones. Yellow ones. Brown ones.
And that’s what she instills in her classroom.
They are shapes and colors and letters all rolled into one to our little sensory learners. An M says “mmmm”. You can touch them (as you count them.). You can taste them (as you eat them.). Learning just doesn’t get any better than that!
Miss Marilyn has a unique way of teaching that is alive and creative and not only reaches down deep into the bag of M&M’s, but also reaches the hearts and lives of her students for years to come. She knows just when to say stop and just when to give a hug. She’s the perfect mix of tough and tender. Just like those M&M’s. Harder candy shell on the outside. Softer sweet chocolate on the inside.
Just like those M&M’s are round like a never ending circle, so is God’s love for us. Neverending. Just like Miss Marilyn’s lessons, that are new each morning, so are God’s mercies for us.
Each day I am reminded of how blessed I am to work where I do with such a great group of educators and precious children. I am more blessed by the love and mercies God shows me each day as I try to tackle this thing we call life.
I hope and pray that you, too, have a neverending love with your God. May you be blessed with special people in your lives that love and inspire you. If
this does not sound like your life, please let me know. I know just how you can fix that. You see, we are all a part of God’s circle of life.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,[a]
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Love and laughter,
