I’m rather fond of apples.
Granny Smiths are my favorite. They are crisp and tart. And delicious dipped in caramel! 🙂 I have an Apple MacBook laptop computer. I have some Betsey Johnson Tutti Frutti Apple Mismatch Earrings.
And I can peel an apple in one curly strip. Just like Meg Ryan in Sleepless In Seattle. 🙂
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. But who keeps us away from the apple?
Have you ever been tempted by something you were restricted from or something you knew wasn’t good for you?
The infamous apple.
They are everywhere. From the latest and greatest Apple iPhones to the new Apple watches to one too many slices of mom’s Apple pie. We all want the forbidden fruit. Maybe your apple is wanting something material that you can’t afford it. Or maybe its something or someone you can’t walk away from. Know we can all resist our forbidden fruit. Probably not alone. But God’s word promises us with Him, we can do exactly that.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
So eat your apple a day. In fact, eat two to safeguard yourself against such diseases as cardiovascular, Alzheimer’s, and cancer. They’re rich in quercetin and antioxidants. They contain Vitamin C for the immune system and phenols which reduce cholesterol. They even battle tooth decay.
But, I encourage each of you to join me in leaving the forbidden fruit on the tree. And don’t fall for Satan’s lies. Partaking of the forbidden fruit may open our eyes to things we’ve never seen, but it will never offer us wisdom. Contrary to Eve’s better judgment, resisting temptation is by far the best way to make us wise.
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Love and laughter,
