I recently watched a movie that I found very captivating. It was entitled, Now You See Me. It is about illusion and magic and The Four Horsemen and the perfect heist. I love anything with Morgan Freeman in it. I’d highly recommend it.
The catchphrase of the film is “Look closely because the closer you think you are, the less you’ll actually see.”
God is kind of like that. We meet Him on a spiritual realm. The closer we become to Him, the more faith we have. Faith is trust in the unseen. It’s not about seeing. It’s about believing.
Do you have to see to believe?
We all have different belief systems established from our unique life experiences. Do you need factual material evidence to believe something as true or do you accept principles handed down over the ages as truth?
Just like the illusionist can make something appear out of nothing, so can Jesus. A life that was once dead from sin can now have eternal life by simply believing. Believing in the unseen. Believing in Jesus Christ. The Son of God. Who died for our sins.
If you’ve never prayed this prayer, I urge you to do so now. I’d love to do it with you. You see, I want to spend more than just a morning cup of coffee with you as you read my blog. I want to spend eternity with you worshipping our creator. No illusion here. It’s the real deal. It’s life changing.
Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
